Osmos
Founded by designer Steven Oo, OSMOS seeks to entwine craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics through solid knitting techniques. The design philosophy of OSMOS is about the daring exploration of individuality and the pursuit of freedom. Equipped with decade-long R&D experience and stable supply chain in the knitting industry, OSMOS insists on creating more inclusive products, and interprets the brand's design concept “penetration and tolerance” with a fashion expression that combines rigidity and softness.
Steven Oo
Steven Oo is a Burmese-American-Chinese knitwear designer who has spent substantial segments of his life in all three countries. He was born in Yangon, Myanmar in 1984 and his family immigrated to the US in 1999 where he attended high school, university, and graduate school in California. After he completed his Bachelors degree in University of California, Berkeley in International Business, he went onto receiving his Masters in Fashion Knitwear Design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He debuted his graduate collection in New York during 2010 AW Fashion Week where the collection received praises from the industry including renowned fashion critic Suzy Menkes as “a fashion star whose work is as beautiful as sculpture” for the architectural knits he created as part of the 9 look collection. He has gone onto work for international brands such as BCBG Max Azria as well as Anthropologie before starting a knitwear company in Los Angeles, California.
